Free Ur Mind is a private practice of counsellors who are registered with British Colmbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC) and professional counsellors. We intend to deliver reliable counselling services and provide prospects for enduring emotional and psychological development to each client. Curious about counselling? Our counsellor experts are here to provide you with everything one can expect to discuss while taking a seat with a counselor.

  • Mental health counselling: help you how to manage emotional and psychological issues such as anxiety, bad temper, depressed mood, fear, annoyance, hopelessness, and feelings of isolation, to rarer problems of paranoia, and bipolar disorder.
  • Pre-marriage counselling: helps you express your uncertainties, utalize learned new communication skills and talk with your future spouse effectively.
  • Marriage counselling: helps you for example deal with perceptions, such as feeling betrayed, that are revealed during counselling sessions.
  • Reinforcing family relationship counselling: helps you obtain a mental grasp on family interactions and the strains and conflicts. You will learn new communication skills.
  • Mental Health conferences: helps you to enhance your knowledge about unfamilliar mental health issues, transforming minds, and providing real life-long positive mental health outcomes.

Who may become a member?

We welcome members between the age of 18 and 80 years old to join our club.

How to become a member?

Members can obtain our services at ‘Free Ur Mind’ with a non-refundable, one-time registration for just $50.00. A $35.00 monthly payment is necessary. To obtain our counselling services, members are required to possess accounts on good standing. You are responssible making your payment for each month.

Membership Benefits:

  1. Get a membership card for each member.
  2. Each member is allowed to take a one-time 30 minute consultation on a one issue at no cost. Members can save 30 minutes for six months on their monthly payment. Then, the total saved 3 hours can be used in a counselling course or utilized in the future (2years’ time limit to store credit). Members can save three hours to be used in sequence. For example, you are in search for four sessions of counselling and can use 3 hours of counselling services.
    • Four sessions X 50 minutes = 200 minutes.
    • 200 minutes – 180 minutes your saved minutes = -20 minutes. You can pay for the 20 minutes at 35%  discount.
  3. 30 minutes counselling session face-to-face or online at no cost can be used by a family member or a friend).
  4. Up to 35% discount on all counselling sessions while your membership is active.
  5. 40% discount on Free UR Mind products or services that are limited to support groups, conferences, seminars, and workshops of three days’ length.
  6. A family member or a friend is allowed to use your saved credits.
  7. Each member can cancel his or her membership agreement whenever they like and collect services for saved credits only.


Each member should possess membership account status in “Good Standing.” The member’s benefits are suspended when the member’s account is not in “Good Standing” status – commonly for unpaid dues. The member is required to redeem his or her membership account status to “Good Standing” within 21 days. After a lapse of one month, membership will expire.

We possess exclusive rights to cancel this membership agreement at any time, with or without any prior notice and with the exemption.

What is trauma?
Is an injury as a result of an experience that causes sever emotional distress and or psychological damage.
Trauma impacts a person’s physiological, emotional, physical and mental health. Not all traumatic experiences are the same, and there are different treatment strategies for the various types. These strategies help people regain balance in their life.
The main types of Trauma:
Acute Trauma;
Chronic Trauma

What is Acute Trauma?
Acute trauma is often associated with a single event: a car accident, theft, a love one’s passing, an act of violence, witnessing a violent event or any experience that threatens one’s physical or emotional safety.
A person reacting to acute trauma may exhibits any of the following symptoms:
• Panic
• Confusion
• Dissociation
• Insomnia
• Suspiciousness
• A lack of self-care
• Loss of focus or production at work or school
Acute trauma can progress into mental health illness like depression and anxiety.

What Is Chronic Trauma?
The word chronic means ongoing, so it refers to trauma that happens repeatedly. Or chronic incidents reoccur over and over and may include the following situations:
• Long term child abuse;
• Experience an impact of a war;
• Ongoing sexual abuse;
• Living within a domestically violent environment.

Symptoms of Chronic Trauma
The symptoms of chronic trauma may keep survivors trapped for an extended amount of time. Survivors of chronic trauma tends to exhibit the followings:
Reliving the event;
Avoiding situation that remind you of the event;
Having negative beliefs & feelings;
Hyperarousal: feeling tense.

Behavioral Reactions to Chronic Trauma
When a person does not receive treatment to deal with chronic trauma, he may also demonstrate any of the following behaviors:
• Sexual avoidance
• Sexual promiscuity
• Fighting
• Drug or alcohol abuse
• Unhealthy personal relationships
• Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Living with a chronic trauma requires that a person take any of the following actions:
• Attempt to survive using a variety of survival mechanisms
• Adapt to the greatest extent possible
• Attempt to minimize the impact

Because these strategies are reactive and defensive, a person suffering from chronic trauma may experience any of the following problems:

• Confusion
• Anger
• Sadness
• Anxiety
• Rage
• Over-reactions
• Misperceptions of their environment
• Impaired memories
Survivors of this kind of trauma may require much more treatment as the pain lasts much longer.
